About Me:
I’m a licensed school counselor that works with grades 9-12. I’m originally from Eau Claire, WI and moved to La Crosse, WI after high school to attend college. I received my bachelor’s degree from UW-La Crosse and completed my master’s degree in School Counseling from Winona State. When I’m not thinking about school or work, I enjoy fishing, biking, golfing, watching movies and cheering on the Packers.
This will be my seventh year as the school counselor at Dover-Eyota High School. In the past I’ve worked with students, K-12, in alternative school and public school settings. It’s through these experiences and enjoyment of working with students that I decided to become a School Counselor. What I love about my job is that I get to work with energetic youth that are passionate about pursuing future goals and I appreciate being a part of that process. It’s also my role to provide services for students if they are experiencing personal or social problems that they need assistance with. I’m more than happy to help students in any area of their lives, so please stop by and say hello!

My Mission:
The purpose of the DEHS school counseling program is to provide all students with the opportunity to expand their knowledge through growth in the academic, career, and social/emotional domains. In partnership with the community and fellow educators, the school counseling program will foster a respectful environment that encourages the development of well-rounded, high achieving citizens.
Academic Development
The school counseling program implements strategies and activities to support and maximize each student’s ability to learn
(American School Counselor Association, 2014).
Career Development
The school counseling program helps students:
- Understand the connection between school and the world of work.
- Plan for and make a successful transition from school to postsecondary education and/or the world of work and from job to job across the life span (ASCA, 2014).
Social/Emotional Development
The school counseling program helps students manage their emotions and teaches students to apply interpersonal skills to their everyday lives (ASCA, 2014).
